QUARTZ

Quartz is a extremely durable surface material, most commonly used on countertops, vanities, and tub surrounds. Quartz has a variety of different colors and textures that can range from more consistent smaller patterns, to bolder colors, and patterns that mimic natural stone. Natural quartz is a very common mineral formed in earths crust. What's used in countertops is an engineered surface containing about 93% ground natural quartz with about 7% resins, polymers, and pigments. Because this material is engineered with resins and polymers, it does have a high heat resistance, but will begin to warp above about 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Quartz does not need re-sealing and is highly scratch resistant and highly stain resistant. The resins in the product make the material non-porous and it will not absorb oil or bacteria.
